What would’ve made it easier/What would you have changed?

‘It would definitely be consistency. It would be about delivering something every week, even if it wasn’t very good.

‘The other thing that comes from consistency is that you do get so much better, so much faster. You can’t produce a weekly show and remain bad at the thing you’re doing.’

When someone is considering a podcast as a medium, how do they know if it’s for them?

‘Sometimes, despite it being hard, despite it being heavy and feeling like shit some of the time, you can’t walk away from these ideas, even if your rational mind wants you to. The rest of it is like, “I can’t put it down yet, I can’t give up yet.” I think that’s when you know it’s worth persisting.’

What are the most important things to consider?

‘I think it’s definitely about having the right people around you and having that support network of people that could call you when you’re falling into self-doubt.

‘If the podcast is the business, ask yourself who your ideal listener is. Knowing who your audience is will help you get that clarity around the content and the type of show you’re gonna have.’
