Amanda’s fondest food memories

Amanda loved going out to the meet the milkman. She remembers fondly how the butcher would also come and deliver the meat. It was about the hearth. The kitchen was the heart of the home, it was where all the love was being focused. Her mother would always cook three meals a day, and put so much love into caring for their diets and nutrition. She remembers hiding over cooked vegetables under her seat cushion.

Exercise Routine

  •  swimming
  • surfing
  • snorkling
  • diving
  • bushwalking
  • yoga
  • walking

Cooking tips

  • Always try to make cooking an experience.
  • Batch Cooking – preparing multiple portions of several meals at once and storing them
  • Spice it Up!
  • Experiment with breakfast, incorporate as much nutrition into your breakfast as possible. Amanda combines all types of seasonal vegetables, herbs, and usually an egg in her breakfast recipes.
  • Experiment with different flavours
  • Fill a Lazy Susan with fresh herbs and place it in the centre of your dining table. Let your guests choose their own fresh herbs rather than cooking with them.

Quick dinner ideas

Salmon or Wild Barramundi (grilled or steamed with herbs or ginger), with a rainbow array of seasonal steamed vegetables, a dob of butter, and a little wasabi.

Know more about Amanda

Who would you love to have dinner with and where?

A terrace in Sardinia at twilight, seated at a long table filled with hearty food, sparkling water, and great wine. Surrounded by a group of wonderful friends, some great locals and Deepak Chopra. Sardinian people have wonderfully long lives. They would spend the evening enjoying the company of the really beautiful elders and appreciate the things they do in their lives to give them their longevity.

Sting with great music playing!

Last meal on the planet?

The food that revolutionises our way of connecting with ourselves and what’s important about food and what nourishes us. It would be prepared in such a magical way that it would transport the people eating it. It would have extraordinary flavours, be highly nutritious and would be shared with others.
