In this interview we cover:

Leandra’s entrepreneurial journey

This bit of the conversation is fascinating and for the people out there who are running their own businesses in particular. Leandra talks about how she found out, that she was proudly unemployable. She mentions her journey from Melbourne to Portugal to Dublin and then landing up in Darwin where she is now. Her journey from finding a job, realising that she didn’t want to work for someone else, then doing whatever it took to raise the money needed to start their own business.

Leandra points out how going to the Key Person of Influence Brand Accelerator day changed her life. How going through the KPI program she realised that her entrepreneurial sweet spot was around the area involving gut-brain health. And now, on the 15th of August 2014, she will be speaking at the Brand Accelerator in Melbourne.

How to have it all: The balancing act!

We talk a lot about how she balances having two businesses and being a wife and mum week in week out. She also talks about her passion – food! Which is why we get along really well in the interview. In fact, just like Michael’s interview, all the regular questions went out the window.

We talk in detail about how every woman can have it all – health, wealth and vitality. We talk about women and the challenges women face when it comes to food and healthy eating. How guilt plays such a huge emotional consequence in our lives. Leandra goes into detail talking about how listening to your body and why you are craving certain foods. How to find the substitutes to make sure you get what you want.

You’ve got to listen to the part of the interview where Leandra helps her accountability buddy off soft drink.

Wheat! Is it good for you?

We talk about gluten, the effects gluten has on our bodies. We talk about how wheat is really good for our economy but how it isn’t good for our body. Leandra goes into detail on the change the wheat strand has gone through over the last few decades. She tells us what symptoms you might have if you’re allergic to wheat. And, she also tells me what to substitute wheat with, if you really love it.

In fact, Leandra gives us a lot of options on how to migrate to a diet that is gluten free.

Leandra stresses on the 80-20 rule and how nutrition is 80% of the challenge.
