OK, you’ve created the greatest podcast in the history of humanity. Great guests, top production quality, your sparkling personality in the host’s chair, and yet when you check your stats it’s tumbleweeds. What gives?
These days, with podcasting competition getting tougher, it’s not enough to have a great podcast and hope listeners will stumble over it. You’ve got to have a plan for plugging it into people’s ears.
Well, James Cridland is the man with the plan, and he’ll be rolling out the blueprints at We Are Podcast 2018 this October.
Want More Listeners?
As Editor of the daily podcasting newsletter Podnews, James spends his days analysing the world’s most popular podcasts and how they are promoted and the techniques they use to build huge audiences.
At We Are Podcast 2018, James will be showing you exactly how you can replicate these same techniques to boost your audience numbers.
James will kick off this packed presentation, with basics of exactly how you should market your podcast; how you get people to listen to it and engage with it; how best to promote your podcast on the web and social media; and how to get the most out of your promotional dollar.
Turn Your Marketing up to 11
But James doesn’t just stop with the basics. As a radio futurologist, writer, consultant and speaker on radio and podcasting’s future, he brings a much deeper perspective and understanding of the industry and how to thrive in it.
At We Are Podcast 2018, he’ll also be going deep to give you a better understanding of how podcasts are consumed and how to profit from these expert user experience insights to maximise your podcast marketing and advertising efforts.
A Bit More About James
You’ve read a bit about James above, but it’s an impressive CV that deserves a closer look. In addition to being an award-winning copywriter, presenter, internet strategist, and now editor of Podnews and head of the media information site media.info, James has been at the forefront of radio technology and the podcast revolution since 2001. After joining the original Virgin Radio in London as Digital Media Director where he launched the world’s first streaming radio smartphone app in 2005, he later worked on the company’s podcast strategy before joining the BBC in 2007 where he worked on the BBC iPlayer for radio service that laid the foundations for the UK Radioplayer. And that’s just the short-form highlights reel. Phew! Now if that doesn’t convince you of his podcasting chops, I don’t know what will.
James Cridland’s session at We Are Podcast 2018 is an absolute must for anyone who really wants to take their podcast marketing to the next level.
