2017 Game Time: My Top 3 Learnings for 2016

2017 game time.

Rochelle showed me a post a couple of days ago about how everything that we’ve been through to this point was just practice. We have had an amazing journey of learnings and celebration. For me 2016 was brilliant and I learned a lot.

My top 3 learnings from the year are:

#1. There is no wrong decision

When you are faced with making decisions, there is no wrong decision at any stage. Whether you make one or the other. Whether you make one or not. Either way you will have to deal with the consequences of your actions or inactions. Even if you think you’ve made the “right” decision. Given enough of time and distance it will turn out to be the right decision, because hindsight is 20-20.

#2. There is no failure

There is only learning. Sometimes our lack of making a decision holds more inertia because we might “fail” and we feel like it might set us back. However everything is a learning stage for the next big play. Whether you see it as failure or success, you need to see them as learnings to take your life to the next level.

#3. You need to hang out with the right people

I can’t stress enough how important the people around you are for you to change your preconceived notions of how you view the world. Make sure they challenge you and your decisions in positive ways and not by their limited thinking. Don’t let anyone limit you by placing their fears onto you. Always find ways to improve your argument. And, that only comes when your beliefs are challenged in the right way.

To be perfectly honest, calling 2017 game time is very abstract. My next move is to document what would define success with this game and how do I go about making it happen. You should do the same.
